Terlato Family Makes Major Move In U.K., Linking With Matthew Clark

January 18, 2012

The Terlato family is making a significant move into the U.K., tapping The Matthew Clark Group, one of the market’s leading drinks distributors, to handle its high-end California wines there. Terlato Wines president and CEO Bill Terlato said the agreement with Matthew Clark was part of the family’s plan to develop global distribution of the finest wines from its range. “The United Kingdom is, of course, one of the world’s premier wine markets, and there is no better partner than Matthew Clark to ensure that our wines are available in the top U.K. restaurants and fine-wine retailers,” Terlato said.

Matthew Clark will focus its efforts on select wines from the Terlato family’s California vineyards and wineries, including Chimney Rock, Sanford, Terlato Family Vineyards, The Federalist and Tangley Oaks. The distributor, which supplies its marketwide base of hotels, restaurants, pubs and clubs with some 4,000 beverage products, will also represent the Terlato family’s wine ventures with golf legend Jack Nicklaus and U.K. native Luke Donald, currently the world’s top-ranked golfer.
