•Providence, Rhode Island-based Narragansett Brewing Co. is bringing back its winter seasonal, Narragansett Porter. Created by brewmaster Sean Larkin, Porter is brewed with Chinook and Simcoe hops, and black, pale, chocolate, Munich and crystal malts, giving it a mild chocolate flavor with a slight smokiness. The American-style Porter is 7% abv. Narragansett currently has distribution in New England, eastern Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida, in addition to expanding into Wisconsin in August, marking the brand’s first move beyond the East Coast.
•Wisconsin’s Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co. has released its limited edition Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout ahead of the holidays. It is available now through January in four-packs and on draft in 26 markets. Imperial Stout features 11 different malts, giving it notes of nutty toffee and molasses. The brew is one of four in the Big Eddy craft series, including Baltic Porter, Imperial India Pale Ale and Wee Heavy Scotch Ale. The Leinenkugel brand is part of MillerCoors’ Tenth & Blake craft and import unit.
