Glazer’s To Handle Accolade North America Portfolio In Seven States

November 27, 2012

Glazer’s Inc. has signed a deal to handle the portfolio of Accolade Wines North America in seven states—Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Ohio, Iowa and Oklahoma.

The Accolade portfolio includes Geyser Peak, Hardys, Banrock Station, Atlas Peak, XYZin and Stones ready-to-serve cocktails in the U.S. market. Accolade Wines was launched in early 2011 after Constellation sold its Australian and European businesses to Australia-based CHAMP Private Equity, with Constellation retaining a 20% interest.

Accolade Wines North America was established in early 2012 after Accolade purchased the Geyser Peak Winery, XYZin and Atlas Peak brands from the now-defunct Ascentia Wine Estates. Accolade’s Australian portfolio moved from its previous U.S. marketer, Constellation, into the Accolade North America stable in October.

Accolade North America does total annual volume of around 500,000 cases. Banrock Station (136,000 cases) and Hardys (45,000 cases) led the company’s Australian portfolio last year. Both of those brands previously were much larger in the U.S., selling nearly 1 million cases between them in 2007.
