•Denver-based Odell Brewing Co. has partnered with CocoaJoe LLC to create a cocoa-based ale called CocoaJoe Amber. Odell brewed the pilot beer in November and tapped it this week; it’s now available on draft at Odell’s Tap Room in Fort Collins. Odell says the brew’s distribution could be expanded depending on its initial consumer response. There are currently 12 experimental beers available at the Tap Room, including Myrcenary, Town Pump, John Baise, Lugene and Fat Old Sun, among others. Odell Brewing also produces a year-round range—which includes its Easy Street Wheat, Levity Amber Ale and 5 Barrel Pale Ale labels, among others—as well as a variety of seasonals and specialty offerings including the Woodcut series and the 4-Pack series. Its beers are distributed in 10 states.

•Boulder, Colorado’s New Planet Beer Company, which specializes in gluten-free beers, has unveiled new labeling and a new moniker for each brew in its three-expression portfolio. The updated beers—previously known as Tread Lightly Ale, 3R Raspberry Ale and Off Grid Pale Ale—feature new labels and have been renamed Blonde Ale, Raspberry Ale and Pale Ale, respectively. The trio will continue to be available in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles. Concurrently the company announced that it plans to increase capacity 50% this year to keep up with rising demand. Established in 2009, New Planet distributes its gluten-free offerings to 42 states.
