Total Wine Launches Food And Wine Pairing App In Collaboration With Wine Spectator

January 31, 2013

Total Wine & More has debuted a free food and wine-pairing iPad app in partnership with Wine Spectator, currently targeted for its set of “next-generation” Southern California stores. The app’s features include seven different food categories to allow for a variety of pairing options, complimentary recipes from Wine Spectator for each category and an adjustable pairing option that can be customized for different food preparation styles. The app includes wines that are currently available in Total Wine’s Southern California locations, including Redondo Beach, Northridge, Thousand Oaks, Laguna Hills, Brea, Tustin, Huntington Beach and Rancho Cucamonga.

The launch comes as part of Total Wine’s recent drive to engage consumers and offer unique in-store experiences. Last fall, the company revealed details of a set of “next generation” features for its stores, including in-store iPads, flat panel video screens that stream educational content on wine, beer and spirits and an updated education center and complimentary Wi-Fi. Offering a selection of more than 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers, Total Wine currently operates more than 88 stores across 14 states.
