•Portland, Maine-based Rising Tide Brewing Co. has entered the New Hampshire market, partnering with New Hampshire Distributors, Bellavance Beverage Co., Clarke Distributors and White Mountain Distributors. Rising Tide is currently in expansion mode, having completed a project last summer for the installation of a new fifteen-barrel brewhouse in a 5,000-square-foot facility, as well as expanding distribution into Vermont last month. The brewer’s offerings—small-batch brews like Zephyr, Atlantis, Daymark, Ishmael and Ursa Minor, as well as a number of seasonal and special releases—are also available in Maine and Massachusetts.
•New York’s Shmaltz Brewing Co. has introduced the eighth beer in its limited engagement barrel-aged series, He’Brew Funky Jewbelation. At 9.4%-abv, Funky Jewbelation is a blend of six ales and lagers from the Shmaltz lineup that have been aged in Bourbon and rye whiskey barrels—Jewbelation 15, Origin Pomegranate Strong Ale, Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A., Messiah Nut Brown Ale, Coney Island Lager and Albino Python. The national launch event for the brew will take place in Brooklyn on February 28, followed by a national rollout through June in 22-ounce bottles and on draft at select locations. Shmaltz has a distribution footprint that currently covers more than 30 states across the country.
