NEWS ALERT: Edrington Taking Control Of Portfolio In The U.S.June 17, 2013
Edrington is taking control of its portfolio—including The Macallan single malt Scotch whisky, Cutty Sark Scotch whisky and Brugal rum, among other brands—in the U.S. market. The Scottish-based drinks producer announced earlier today that it’s establishing a new U.S. sales, marketing and distribution arm—Edrington USA—to handle its brands in the U.S. market, effective March 31, 2014, when its longtime partnership with Rémy Cointreau USA expires.
Edrington says that its new U.S. subsidiary will expand its existing New York office while opening offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami. Edrington’s portfolio, which also includes The Famous Grouse Scotch whisky, Highland Park single malt Scotch whisky and the recently acquired Snow Leopard vodka, currently sells more than 500,000 cases annually in the U.S. market.
Edrington is also forming new units to manage its brands in Southeast Asia and in growing markets in the Middle East and North Africa.Tagged : Edrington Group, Remy Cointreau, spirits
