La Martiniquaise’s Label 5 Scotch Targets U.S.

June 18, 2013

With American consumers increasingly gravitating toward brown spirits, French drinks group La Martiniquaise says the time is right to mount a push with its Label 5 Scotch brand in the U.S. market.

Despite ranking among the top 10 Scotch brands globally, Label 5 entered the U.S. just last summer, imported by Prestige Wine & Spirits. Its Label 5 Classic Black (retailing around $16 a 750-ml.) and Label 5 Extra Premium 12-year-old ($24) are targeting key U.S. Scotch markets, and La Martiniquaise tells SND it’s forecasting the brand to reach about 20,000 cases this year.
