La Martiniquaise’s Label 5 Scotch Targets U.S.June 18, 2013
With American consumers increasingly gravitating toward brown spirits, French drinks group La Martiniquaise says the time is right to mount a push with its Label 5 Scotch brand in the U.S. market.
Despite ranking among the top 10 Scotch brands globally, Label 5 entered the U.S. just last summer, imported by Prestige Wine & Spirits. Its Label 5 Classic Black (retailing around $16 a 750-ml.) and Label 5 Extra Premium 12-year-old ($24) are targeting key U.S. Scotch markets, and La Martiniquaise tells SND it’s forecasting the brand to reach about 20,000 cases this year.Subscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
