Kosta Browne Acquires First Vineyard

July 2, 2013

Sonoma County’s Kosta Browne, whose wines have earned more than 70 scores of 90-plus from Wine Spectator over the years, has purchased its first vineyard, a 20-acre block from the Keefer Ranch, located in the Russian River Valley appellation. Kosta Browne, which has been sourcing Pinot Noir from Keefer since 2005, is acquiring the winery’s K2 block, while Marcy Keefer will continue to farm her remaining 30 acres, selling these grapes to her existing winery clients. Kosta Browne’s Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2009 was selected as Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year in 2011.
