Wally’s Wine & Spirits Launches Auction HouseJuly 9, 2013
Los Angeles retailer Wally’s Wine & Spirits has unveiled a new wine auction division, Wally’s Auction House. The move marks the first major initiative for the store since it was sold by founder Steve Wallace to Wally’s co-owner Christian Navarro and Maurice, Paul and Armand Marciano, founders and executives at global fashion firm Guess, last month.
Wally’s Auction House will be led by former Zachys auction head Michael Jessen, who has been appointed its president and CEO. Julia Gilbert, formerly auction director at Zachys, will serve as Wally’s Auction’s managing director. Jessen and Gilbert plan to organize the first Wally’s wine auction within the next year. A New York-based outpost is also in the pipeline for Wally’s new auction business.Tagged : auctions, California, retail, wine
