•DC Brau Brewing will enter the Maryland market for the first time this month. The brewer will launch its portfolio in the state beginning in Montgomery County and also plans enter Baltimore County, Howard County and Calvert County. In its goal of expanding its footprint further into the DC metro area, the brewer also moved into the Charlottesville, Virginia region early last year. DC Brau’s selection of brews includes three year-round beers—The Public, The Corruption and The Citizen—as well as a line of limited-release beers. The company recently finished an expansion project that increased the annual production capacity from 5,000 barrels to over 12,000 barrels.

•Denver-based Wynkoop Brewing says its shipments jumped 80% in the first six months of 2013, and that it recently expanded beyond its Denver-Boulder area base into the Fort Collins market. Wynkoop credited the shipment increase to rising interest from existing accounts and a “flood of new draft accounts.” The craft brewer’s beers include Rail Yard Ale, Silverback Pale Ale and B3K Black Lager, and three new canned beers added this year: Colorojo Imperial Red, Patty’s Chile Beer and Wynkoop Pumpkin Ale.
