•San Francisco-based craft brewer Speakeasy Ales & Lagers has announced plans to increase its capacity to nearly 50,000 barrels by 2014. The move follows Speakeasy’s recent entry into Illinois, New Jersey and Washington state, as well as this month’s move into Colorado, where the brewery has inked a deal with Beverage Distributors Co. (a division of Summit Beverage). Over the next 18 months, Speakeasy is slated to also expand into Arizona, New Mexico and Idaho, bringing the company’s total reach to around 13 states. Speakeasy, which was established in 1997, produces West Coast-style offerings such as Big Daddy IPA, Prohibition Ale, Double Daddy Imperial IPA and Payback Porter.
