Beam Sells Maine Facility To Sazerac, Shifts Pinnacle, Calico Jack Bottling To Kentucky

October 17, 2013

After acquiring a host of brands from White Rock Distilleries in 2011 and 2012, Sazerac Co. has purchased the Lewiston, Maine-based plant where many of those brands were bottled. Beam Inc., which took ownership of the Lewiston facility when it obtained Pinnacle Vodka and Calico Jack Rum from White Rock in April 2012, has agreed to sell it to Sazerac for an undisclosed sum.

Earlier this year, Beam announced plans to gradually transition bottling of Pinnacle and Calico Jack to its recently expanded plant in Frankfort, Kentucky. That shift is on track for completion in early 2014. Until then, Beam will lease back the Lewiston facility from the New Orleans-based Sazerac.
