Glazer’s Returns To Illinois, Forming Alliance With Stoller

November 18, 2013

Glazer’s, Inc. is returning to Illinois after a five-year absence. Earlier today, the Dallas-based drinks distributor announced that it has created a new partnership with Illinois’s Stoller Wholesale to distribute spirits, wine and beer in the market. The new company will do business under the Glazer’s umbrella as Stoller Wholesale Distributing of Illinois. Stoller currently distributes spirits, wine and malt beverages in Illinois for a host of suppliers, including Imperial Brands, Don Sebastiani and Sons, Rum Chata, among others. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2013.

Glazer’s previously operated in Illinois via its involvement with Union Beverage, in which it initially acquired a stake in 2003 before eventually obtaining full ownership of the distributor in 2006. In 2008, Glazer’s exited Illinois when it sold its interest in Union to Wirtz Corp., the state’s leading spirits and wine wholesaler.
