Stoli Forms Alliance With L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center

January 24, 2014

Stoli Group USA has formed an alliance with the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center aimed at helping develop LGBT leaders both in the U.S. and globally. Under the terms of the three-year partnership pact, Stoli Group will donate $300,000 to the support the Center’s Leadership LAB program, which helps current and future LGBT leaders develop leadership skills. “We stand with the LGBT community in the fight for equality, and are proud to be working with the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center to make our joint vision possible,” said John Esposito, president, Stoli Group USA.

Last summer, following the enactment of anti-LGBT decrees in Russia, LGBT activists called for a boycott of Russian vodka in the U.S., and several well-known gay bars pulled brands like Stolichnaya from their shelves. At the time, Esposito told SND, “I’m hoping that people who are interested in truly fighting to make a change will come to us and work with us. Meanwhile, we’ll continue to do what we’ve done for years, and that’s support equal rights—for the LGBT community and all communities.”
