BCM Wineworks Expands Sales Team With Veteran Trio

March 4, 2014

BCM Wineworks, the sales and marketing unit of wine investment fund Bacchus Capital Management, has appointed three new sales executives: northwest regional sales manager Jim Gratton, California state sales manager Ed Maass and eastern regional sales manager Marc Nelson.

Founded by industry veteran Sam Bronfman and investment bankers Peter Kaufman and Henry Owsley late last year, BCM has an upscale portfolio that includes Dry Creek’s Sbragia Family Vineyards, Napa’s Madrigal Family Winery and Washington’s DeLille Cellars.

The new executives all report to BCM Wineworks’ national sales vice president Jay Soloff. Gratton has more than 30 years of industry experience and most recently worked at DeLille Cellars. Maass, a 25-year wine industry veteran, was previously director of sales and marketing for Sierra Madre Vineyards, while Nelson joins from Opici Wines, where he was vice president, national sales manager.

BCM Wineworks chairman Sam Bronfman tells SND that the short-term goal is to bolster the unit’s retail and restaurant account presence. BCM Wineworks already has kicked off or relaunched its brands in California, Florida, Nevada, Texas, Virginia, New York and New Jersey.
