•Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers unit has officially opened its new Beefeater distillery and visitor center in London. Billed as the city’s first dedicated gin distillery, the 6,500-square-foot Beefeater London: The Home of Gin facility is expected to attract domestic and international tourists, offering interactive and educational experiences focused on Beefeater’s history and production. According to the company, the multimillion-dollar project is part of Pernod’s long-term strategy to fuel worldwide gin category growth. In its first three quarters of Pernod’s fiscal 2014 (ending June 30), Beefeater—which recently released a new, limited edition package inspired by its London provenance—was up 2% by volume globally.
