•Chico, California’s Sierra Nevada Brewing Company has debuted a new West Coast Double IPA in 24-ounce bottles. The limited edition West Coast-style IPA, which is 8.5% abv and features five hop varieties, is being released as part of Sierra Nevada’s push to promote its Beer Camp Across America festival. The seven-city traveling beer festival includes more than 700 breweries from various regions. It begins July 19 in Chico and ends August 3 in Mills River, North Carolina. General admission to the beer festival is $65.
•Downington, Pennsylvania-based Victory Brewing Co. has released WildDevil IPA, a new spin on its core HopDevil IPA recipe. Featuring the same American hops as its HopDevil counterpart, WildDevil undergoes a different fermentation process using brettanomyces, a wild yeast. The result is a 6.7%-abv beer that is said to combine HopDevil’s floral hop character with new notes of citrus, pine and cherry pie. WildDevil IPA is currently available in 750-ml. bottles at craft beer bars, bottle shops, beer distributors and gourmet grocery stores, priced at around $9 each.
•Santa Barbara craft spirits producer Ascendant Spirits has expanded its sales team with several new hires. Adam Chenoweth, formerly of Nolet Spirits, has been named associate vice president of sales; Dee Dee Kennedy, formerly of Nolet Spirits and Moët Hennessy, has been named Eastern U.S. sales manager; and Dave Stoop, formerly of Campari America, has been tapped as Northern California sales executive.
