Consumer Goods Veteran Hassett To Lead Beam Suntory’s North American Business

July 15, 2014

Beam Suntory Inc. has appointed consumer goods veteran Tim Hassett as president of its North American business, effective July 31. Hassett joins Beam Suntory from Campbell Soup Co., where he currently serves as president of the away from home division and chief customer officer, North America. Prior to joining Campbell’s, Hassett served in commercial and sales roles of increasing responsibility in four years at Kellogg’s and 15 years at Procter & Gamble.

Hassett replaces Bill Newlands, who had previously said that he would leave Beam later this summer. Hassett will report to Matt Shattock, chairman and CEO of Beam Suntory, which was formed when Japan’s Suntory completed its $16 billion acquisition of Beam in May. The newly created Beam Suntory is the U.S. market’s second-leading spirits marketer, behind Diageo USA.
