•Consumer products company ROK Stars and its ROK Drinks division have partnered with the Humphrey Bogart Estate to launch Bogart’s Real English Gin. Produced in Cambridgeshire, England in copper pot stills, the new super-premium entry is billed as a small-batch, hand-crafted gin, and will feature a quote from the film icon on every bottle. Established by Patrón Tequila co-founder John Paul DeJoria and entrepreneur Jonathan Kendrick, ROK Stars also counts among its drinks brands ABK beer, Oval vodka, Uisce Beatha Real Irish whiskey and ROK Hard vodka.
•Molson Coors has reported a net sales gain of 0.9% to $1.2 billion for its fiscal second quarter ended June 30, on a 0.9% volume decline to 16.6 million hectoliters. Net profits for the period also grew, up 9.5% on the same quarter last year to $290.7 million. Growth was driven primarily by strong performances in the U.S. and Europe, where underlying net income was up 8% to $445.7 million and 13.3% to $86.8 million, respectively. MillerCoors, the brewer’s U.S. joint venture with SABMiller, posted sales to retailers down 1.2% in the second quarter, with its net revenue per hectoliter up 3.1% and its contract brewing volume up 6.4%.
