•American Pioneer Winegrowers has launched its first brand, The White Doe, a blend of 80% Chenin Blanc and 20% Viognier. Retailing at $14.99 a 750-ml., The White Doe is the first in a series of new wines that American Pioneer says will eventually reveal the name of its new, as yet undisclosed winery in Geyserville, California. The address of the winery site given by American Pioneer is that of the former Geyser Peak winery, which Francis Ford Coppola Winery acquired last year.

•Zeiler Spirits’ Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey ($19.99 a 750-ml.) has extended into Kentucky, New Mexico, Florida, Hawaii and Wisconsin this month, bringing its footprint to 22 states. The brand, which launched last September, has exceeded expectations so far and will finish its first 12 months on the market at around 13,000 six-pack cases. Coldcock is currently testing in major retail chains and co-founder Sarah Zeiler tells SND the company expects to announce more moves in that area by the end of the year.
