•Long Beach, California-based brewpub Beachwood BBQ and Brewing has launched Beachwood Blendery, a new brewing venture dedicated to re-creating traditional Belgian gueuze- or lambic-style beers in the U.S. Beginning operations at a downtown Long Beach facility this fall, Beachwood Blendery will brew using traditional gueuze methods and ingredients, including unmalted wheat, aged hops and a Belgian water profile. The facility’s barrel room, which has a 1,000-barrel capacity, is temperature-controlled in order to recreate the temperature and humidity of a Belgian barrel room. Beachwood’s first round of lambic-style brews—to be known as the Propagation Series—are set to launch by mid-2015, with a series of tropical fruit- and spice-flavored offerings to follow.

•Eugene, Oregon’s Ninkasi Brewing Company will enter the Colorado market next week through a partnership with C.R. Goodman Companies. Ninkasi’s craft beers will be available on draft and at retailers across the state. The brewery currently operates two brewhouses located in Eugene, where it brews its flagship beers Total Domination IPA, Tricerahops Double IPA, Believer Double Red, Oatis Oatmeal Stout and Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout. In addition to Colorado, Ninkasi is distributed in Alaska, Alberta, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Vancouver.
