•New Belgium Brewing has unveiled Hop Tart, the newest expression in its Hop Kitchen series. The 5%-abv entry is billed as a twist on a traditional American sour ale, made with Belgian Pale malt from the Colorado Malting Company, lactobacillus and a variety of fruity hops. Available through July, Hop Tart follows previous limited edition Hop Kitchen launches such as Oatmeal IPA, Super IPA, Hop the Pond DIPA and Focollaboration, among others.

•Illinois-based Crystal Lake Brewing is debuting its four year-round flagship beers in canned six-packs for the first time. Cans of Crystal Lake’s Beach Blonde, Lakesider, Wake Maker and Slalom King brews will be hitting retailers in northern Illinois this week. Launched less than a year ago, Crystal Lake has been distributing its beers on draft and in a very limited run of 22-ounce bottles up to now. The brewer’s new canning line packages more than 60 cases an hour, and the company is planning to double its current production capacity with three additional fermentation tanks next month.
