•Virtue Cider Co., founded in Fennville, Michigan in 2011, is being acquired by Goose Island Beer Co. and its parent, Anheuser-Busch InBev, for an undisclosed price. The merger reunites Virtue co-founder Greg Hall with Goose Island, where he previously served brewmaster. Hall and more than two-dozen fellow investors will retain a minority stake and continue producing Virtue hard cider at a 48-acre farm in southwestern Michigan, while Goose Island’s Chicago plant will take over bottling and distribution. Until now, Virtue has been available only in kegs and 750-ml. bottles in 20 states. Eventually will be offered in 12-ounce bottles as well.
