MillerCoors Takes Control Of California’s Saint Archer

September 11, 2015

Tenth and Blake, MillerCoors’ craft and import division, has acquired a majority interest in San Diego’s Saint Archer Brewing Company for an undisclosed sum. The deal, closely following fellow California craft brewer Lagunitas’ sale of a 50% stake to Heineken, is expected to close next month. Saint Archer’s portfolio includes Blonde Ale, IPA, White Ale and Pale Ale offerings, and is expected to sell 35,000 barrels this year, a 100% increase over 2014.

Saint Archer co-founder and president Josh Landan will continue to lead the company, along with the rest of the existing management team. Tenth and Blake’s stable also includes Blue Moon, Jacob Leinenkugel, Crispin Cider and a minority equity stake in Terrapin Beer Company, as well as imports like Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Pilsner Urquell, George Killian’s Irish Red and Grolsch.
