•Sonoma-based Don Sebastiani & Sons is diversifying its product portfolio beyond wine, planning an early 2016 release of a variety of non-wine offerings, including an upscale Tequila line. In addition to Tequila, Don & Sons will launch a bottled water infused with the essence of varietal wine juice, as well as a line of flavored, dry-roasted nuts. This summer, the company introduced a new ultra-premium Sonoma Valley Chardonnay, Custard, as the latest addition to its “craft winemaking” unit New House Vintners, established earlier this year.

•Texas-based Independent Distillers USA has announced the retirement of Bruce Herman as vice president of sales and marketing. Herman will be replaced by Ryan Ballew, formerly Southeast division manager. A subsidiary of Japan’s Asahi, Independent Distillers’ brands include Twisted Shotz, Woodstock Bourbon and Naughty Cow alcoholic chocolate milk.
