William Grant Sees “Very Healthy” USA Numbers So Far In 2015

September 16, 2015

William Grant & Sons says it’s seeing double-digit growth across most of its core brands in the U.S. market this year, led by Hendrick’s, The Balvenie, Tullamore D.E.W. and Glenfiddich. Meanwhile, Monkey Shoulder Scotch whisky is showing “great momentum” on the innovation side, and Sailor Jerry is advancing despite operating in a difficult category, said company CEO Stella David in a statement. David’s remarks came following a company announcement that even as global profits grew 4% in 2014, sales declined overall to £933 million ($1.4b) for the year. The top-line decrease was attributed to “a planned reduction in agency brands,” while William Grant’s core premium portfolio posted a 9% increase in sales, the group noted.
