Total Wine & More Names Kevin Peters CEO

September 21, 2015

Total Wine & More has appointed its first-ever chief executive officer, Kevin Peters, effective January 1, 2016. Peters, who joined the Total Wine board in 2011, was most recently CEO of Fleet Pride, the largest independent distributor of heavy-duty truck and retailer parts in the U.S. Prior to that he was president of North America for Office Depot. He will report directly to the board and remain a board member while serving as CEO.

David Trone, who co-owns Total Wine with his brother Robert, said the appointment comes as the retail chain continues to expand at a rapid pace, projecting that by year-end Total Wine will have 130 stores across 18 states and sales surpassing $2 billion.

“Robert and I, as owners of Total Wine & More, will continue to play an active role in the strategic and policy issues of the company,” said Trone. “In this regard we will work closely with Kevin, particularly during his early days in the position and we will remain active members of the Board of Directors. Given Kevin’s knowledge of the business, his relationship with the owners and his familiarity with the existing management team, we see Kevin as an ideal fit in this new role.”
