•Brown-Forman is introducing the latest addition to Tequila Herradura’s annual small-batch Colección de la Casa, Reserva 2015 Directo de Alambique.This year’s release is a 100%-agave Tequila that doesn’t undergo any barrel aging. The fourth edition of the Colección de la Casa series, 13,000 bottles of Directo were produced for the U.S. and Mexican markets. The 110-proof Directo ($89.99) is launching ahead of the holidays in New York, Illinois, Georgia, Texas, California and Florida, with a limited nationwide launch to follow in January. Herradura reached 130,000 nine-liter cases in the U.S. last year on a 12% volume increase, according to Impact Databank.

•Alacrán Tequila has unveiled a new upscale añejo offering, Cristal, retailing from $49-$59 a bottle. Alacrán Cristal is matured for 14 months in American oak, undergoes a clarifying filtration process and is packaged in hand-labeled and -numbered bottles. The new Cristal expression joins Alacrán’s existing Tequila Blanco and Mezcal Joven entries. Alacrán’s key markets include New York, Miami and Texas.
