Stella David To Step Down At William Grant, Simon Hunt Named Chief Executive

William Grant & Sons has just announced that Stella David has decided to step down as the company’s CEO at the end of February 2016 and will be succeeded by current chief commercial officer, Simon Hunt.

David joined William Grant & Sons in August 2009 and has engineered strong growth within the company portfolio and overseen the acquisition of Tullamore D.E.W. and Drambuie, while developing growth brands including Hendrick’s gin and The Balvenie single malt Scotch whisky.

Simon Hunt has been with William Grant & Sons since October 2007, initially as managing director, North America. In April 2013 he was named chief commercial officer. Hunt will take over the role of chief executive on March 1st 2016, while David will continue in an advisory capacity until the end of May.

David already holds non-executive positions on the board of C&J Clark Ltd and HomeServe, plc and spent seven years as a non-executive director of Nationwide Building Society. Hunt will be a featured speaker at the 2016 Impact Marketing Seminar, to be held March 10 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
