•Drinks delivery platform Drizly has partnered with retailer Liquor Stores N.A. to enter Canada. Initially, Drizly will partner with Liquor Stores’ Liquor Depot brand in the Edmonton market. Drizly, in which the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America has a minority stake, has a U.S. footprint spanning 18 markets. The largest publicly traded retailer in North America, Liquor Stores NA operates 254 outlets across Alberta, British Columbia, Alaska, Kentucky and New Jersey, including the Liquor Depot, Liquor Barn, Brown Jug and Wine and Beyond brands.

•North American Breweries is rolling out a new line of Seagram’s Hard Soda next month that will feature a range of flavor options. Taking aim at the growing hard soda segment, which is especially popular among younger LDA consumers, Seagram’s Hard Soda range will include Cherry Cola, Grape Soda, Lemon n’ Lime and Orange Cream. Part of Cerveceria Costa Rica, North American Breweries’ portfolio also includes Pyramid Breweries, Magic Hat, Labatt, Genesee and Honey Brown Lager.

•Napa’s C. Mondavi & Family is launching a new brand, Purple Heart Wines, into national distribution next month. Created in tribute to American service members, Purple Heart’s inaugural release is a red blend composed of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that retails at $20 a bottle. C. Mondavi & Family has committed to a generous annual donation to the Purple Heart Foundation, dedicated to serving the unmet needs of military families.

•Connecticut-based Serrallés USA, known for its Don Q rum brand, has realigned its wholesaler network. Effective March 1, Serrallés is expanding its relationships with RNDC and Breakthru Beverage, and will now be partnered with the two companies throughout their respective networks. Additionally, Serrallés has inked a new deal with Young’s Market Co., which will handle its brands throughout Young’s territory. Other key moves include an expansion of Serrallés’ partnership with Johnson Brothers and a renewal of its long-term relationship with M.S. Walker.
