Moët Hennessy Sales Rise 6% In First Quarter

Moët Hennessy posted an organic revenue increase of 6% to €1 billion ($1.1b) in the three months through March, representing the company’s fiscal first quarter. On a reported basis, sales were up 4%. The impressive growth of Hennessy Cognac continued to drive gains in the U.S. market for the luxury giant, which said its Glenmorangie and Belvedere brands also advanced during the period. Hennessy surpassed 3 million cases in the U.S. on an 18% surge in 2015, according to Impact Databank. Moët Hennessy’s Champagne business also saw a strong start to the year, the group added.
