Alcohol-Based Seltzers Enter The Scene

Amid the recent rise of hard sodas, a new phenomenon is now emerging: alcohol-based seltzers. Boston Beer Co. formed the Hard Seltzer Beverage Co. and debuted its Truly Spiked & Sparkling hard seltzer brand this month. Truly Spiked, which retails at $9.99 to $10.99 a six-pack of 12-ounce bottles, comes in Colima Lime, Grapefruit & Pomelo, and Pomegranate variants and is currently available in 16 U.S. markets. Other brands, including Nauti Seltzer from Wachusett Brewing Co. and SpikedSeltzer from Boathouse Beverage, are also playing in this space.Market Watch has the full story.
