•San Francisco-based importer Maritime Wine Trading Collective has been named the exclusive North American marketer for Chicago’s Letherbee Distillers. Founded in 2011, Letherbee’s portfolio includes Original Label Gin, Barrel-Aged Absinthe, Autumnal & Vernal Gins, Bësk and Fernet. The craft distiller’s current annual production is 60,000 bottles. Maritime is part of Bacchus Capital Management’s portfolio and also markets the Graham Beck, Jules Taylor and Quinta Nova wine brands, among others.
•Washington state’s Seattle Cider Company says sales are up 71% year-to-date, and the company projects volume to rise to 650,000 gallons (21,000 barrels) this year, more than triple its total from three years ago. Currently distributing to 12 states, Seattle Cider expects to enter five new states next year, and is plotting a capacity expansion that will bring its potential output to more than 1 million gallons by next spring. The company’s year-round lineup includes Dry, Semi Sweet and Citrus ciders, all at 6.5% abv.
•Chicago-based Dovetail Brewery is releasing a specialty classic Polish Grodziskie beer for the late summer season. The 3.8%-abv offering is a 100% smoked wheat beer that’s more carbonated than Dovetail’s Hefeweizen, the company says. Dovetail Grodziskie will be available on draft at select accounts throughout Chicago, including at the brewer’s taproom at its 22,000-square-foot brewing facility.
