•Lodi, California-based Burch Steiner Beverage Group has launched Amero ($29), an all-natural American-made amaro. A blend of grape brandy, red wine and select herbs and citrus, the new amaro is at 20.9% abv. Amero is now available in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania through the Empire Merchants and Breakthru Beverage Distribution networks, with further expansion slated for next year. Burch Steiner says Amero will be followed by a number of other new products that are currently in the pipeline.

•BrewSA, a brewer that has pledged to donate 25% of profits to military veterans’ causes, is opening a new brewery and taproom on Long Island this fall. Launched in 2013 by co-owners Steve Walley and Tom Limerick, the BrewSA brand had been contract-brewed by Wisconsin-based Minhas Brewery, and was available in select East Coast markets. However, the company is nearing completion on construction of its own facility, which will be located on Freeport’s Nautical Mile. Wayne Milford, former head brewer at Dogfish Head Brewery, has been brought in to brew a range of styles under the BrewSA umbrella. The Freeport facility will also feature a taproom where consumers can sample the brewer’s beers.
