Wilson Daniels Adds Bisol Prosecco To Portfolio

Drinks marketer Wilson Daniels has taken a big step in the booming Prosecco category by adding Bisol Prosecco to its portfolio. Bisol moves to Wilson Daniels from Vias Imports.

The Bisol range includes Crede Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG, Bisol Private Noso Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Bisol Eliseo Cuvee del Fondatore Millesimato Talento Classico, Molera Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG and Private Cartizze Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG. Bisol has more than 20 vineyards in the heart of the Prosecco region from Valdobiaddene to Conegliano. Exports account for around 70% of its sales.

Bisol sells around 20,000 cases in the U.S. market. With prices ranging from $21-$80, the Bisol range is noteworthy for being more upscale than many of its competitors. The Prosecco category’s higher end is where many marketers, including category leader Mionetto, see opportunity.

Meanwhile, Prosecco continues its rise in the U.S. market. In 2015, the category surged past the 4-million-case threshold in the market, on 22.6% growth, according to Impact Databank. —Peter Zwiebach
