January 13, 2017

Miami-based Santa Margherita USA has expanded its import portfolio with the addition of Franciacorta winery Ca’ del Bosco on an exclusive basis. Founded in 1969 by Maurizio Zanella, Ca’ del Bosco is among Italy’s most prestigious sparkling wine producers, routinely earning scores of 90 points or above from Wine Spectator.

Santa Margherita USA will import a range of méthode champenoise Ca’ del Bosco wines, retailing from $40-$120 a bottle. Offerings include Cuvèe Prestige (Franciacorta DOCG), Cuvèe Prestige Rosé (Franciacorta Rosé DOCG), Vintage Collection Satèn (Franciacorta Satèn DOCG), Vintage Collection Brut (Franciacorta Millesimato DOCG), Vintage Collection Dosage Zero (Franciacorta Millesimato DOCG), Vintage Collection Dosage Zero Noir (Franciacorta Riserva DOCG), Cuvée Annamaria Clementi (Franciacorta Riserva DOCG) and Cuvée Annamaria Clementi Rosé (Franciacorta Rosé DOCG).

Santa Margherita USA tells SND that it plans to significantly expand “quality points of distribution” for Ca’ del Bosco’s wines across the U.S., where the brand currently sells 7,500–8,000 cases annually. The winery’s previous U.S. partner was New York-based Banville Wine Merchants. In addition to Ca’ del Bosco, Santa Margherita USA’s portfolio includes its namesake brand, as well as Kettmeir, Lamole di Lamole, Sassoregale, Torresella, Feudo Zirtari and Fattoria Sardi. Daniel Marsteller
