•Kentucky-based Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. is releasing Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Blackberry Porter as the first of several new beer launches in 2017. The newest addition to Alltech’s Barrel-Aged Seasonal Series, the imperial porter is 8.3% abv and is brewed with blackberries, Kentucky’s official state fruit. The company’s craft beers include flagship Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, Ale, Kolsch, Barrel Stout, IPA and seasonal releases, while its Town Branch Distillery produces Town Branch Bourbon, Rye, Pearse Lyons Reserve malt whiskey and Bluegrass Sundown Bourbon-infused coffee liqueur.
•Cooperstown, New York’s Brewery Ommegang has unveiled Sirens’ Song, the brewer’s first limited edition launch of the year. A Belgian-style dark ale, Sirens’ Song is brewed with a blend of noble hop varieties, Belgian candi syrup, figs and raisins. The 9%-abv offering, which can be consumed immediately or aged, will be available for a limited time on draft and in 12-ounce bottled four-packs. Brewery Ommegang, part of Duvel Moortgat USA, has a U.S. footprint spanning 46 states.
•Oakland Park, Florida-based Funky Buddha Brewery is introducing Pineapple Beach blonde ale to its year-round lineup. Rolling out next month, Pineapple Beach is brewed with pilsner malt, Citra hops and real pineapple. The 5%-abv beer will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles for about $9.99. Meanwhile, Funky Buddha plans to begin expansion efforts that will grow its capacity and allow it to sell beers outside of Florida for the first time.
