•Stoli Group USA’s flagship vodka brand is set to launch its first new TV advertising in seven years. Stolichnaya’s new “THE Vodka” spot will run during live sports and late night programs beginning this week. The 30-second ad, which seeks to connect Stoli’s authenticity and heritage with its contemporary audience, was created by The Martin Agency and is aimed at the millennial demographic. According to Impact Databank, Stolichnaya grew 2.8% to 1.7 million cases in the U.S. last year.

•Ireland’s Connacht Whiskey Co. is releasing Brothership Irish-American Blended Whiskey in a handful of East Coast states. Brothership is a blend of 10-year-old Irish pot still whiskey with 10-year-old American whiskey. The resulting 90-proof whiskey will retail at $50 a 750-ml. across Maryland, New Hampshire and Washington, D.C., and at $40 in Pennsylvania. Connacht co-founder and master distiller Robert Cassell blended and bottled Brothership at his New Liberty Distillery, Connacht’s sister distillery, located in Philadelphia.

•Dan Townsend, Treasury Wine Estates’ managing director for Europe, has passed away at the age of 53. Townsend, who had been with Treasury for six years, had a three-decade career in the drinks business, and had also served as an executive with Matthew Clarke, Constellation Europe and Louis Latour.
