•Next month, CH Distillery will open a new 50,000-square-foot distillery in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. With a capacity of 100,000 cases, the $12-million project will allow for increased production of CH’s flagship organic grain-to-bottle CH Vodka, CH Key Gin and CH London Dry Gin, and bolster the distillery’s barrel-aged rum program. CH’s specialty liqueur line, which includes a collaboration with hospitality and beverage consulting firm The Dogma Group, will also expand. The new distillery occupies 2.5 acres and has three individual grain silos, a barrel-aging room and a 50-foot-tall vodka distillation column.
•Oregon’s BridgePort Brewing Company has released Multi Ball Double IPA. The 8.25%-abv IPA is brewed in the classic hop-heavy West Coast style. The brewers note that they used different hops in each step of the brewing process for a total of seven hop varieties. Multi Ball Double IPA is now available on draft and in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles throughout BridgePort’s 18-state distribution area.
•Escondido, California-based Stone Brewing has reported 18% growth for the first quarter of 2017. Gains were driven by the continued strength of the brewer’s flagship Stone IPA, which rose 8.2%, as well as the success of relative newcomer Stone Delicious IPA, which more than doubled. Other first quarter highlights include The Stone All IPA Mixed Pack, which was up 14.7%, as well as the Stone Ripper and Stone Tangerine Express IPA labels. Stone Brewing’s double-digit progress comes as the overall craft beer segment has slowed, with IRI data showing 4.4% growth for the category year-to-date. In other company news, Stone says it will be present in all 50 states, as well as Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, by May.
•Lansdale, Pennsylvania’s Boardroom Spirits has launched Fresh Ginger, a new flavor in its line of naturally-infused vodkas. Retailing at $27 a 750-ml., Fresh Ginger (100 proof) joins Fresh Citrus and Fresh Cranberry in the range.
