•Diageo’s Crown Royal has released a new limited expression finished in California Cabernet barrels. Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finished marks the second whisky in the brand’s Noble Collection of limited whiskies. After aging, the 40.5%-abv offering is finished in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from Paso Robles, California. Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finished retails at around $60 a 750-ml. and is available nationwide. Crown Royal plans to release the next whisky in the Noble Collection in 2018. The first entry in the series, Cornerstone Blend, was named Whisky Advocate’s 2016 Canadian Whisky of the Year.

•Illinois-based importer Winesellers Ltd. is launching a pair of canned offerings from Italian wine brand Tiamo. Tiamo White and Tiamo Rosé are launching in 375-ml. cans, targeted toward summer occasions such as picnics, barbeques and camping. The pair will be sold both in four-packs ($20) and as single cans ($5). A partnership between Winesellers Ltd. and Master Wines, Tiamo specializes in organic wines from a variety of Italian regions. In addition to its bottled and canned formats, the brand offers select varietals in 20-liter kegs for the on-premise wine-on-tap channel.

•Dorothy Indelicato, a founding family member of Delicato Family Vineyards (DFV), passed away May 5 at the age of 84. Indelicato began working with her husband Vincent Indelicato at Delicato Family Vineyards in 1956, going on to serve on the family board of directors, the audit and finance committee and as corporate treasurer. Up to her passing, Indelicato worked every day, and also served on several community and philanthropic boards in Manteca, California, where DFV is based. Indelicato is survived by Vincent, her husband of 62 years, who remains chairman of DFV, two children and four grandchildren.
