Craft Brewing and Distilling News for June 8, 2017

June 8, 2017

•Hawaii-based Maui Brewing Co. is entering three new Midwestern markets. Maui has partnered with Imperial Beverage in Michigan, Johnson Brothers in Wisconsin and Artisan Beer Company in Minnesota to add their states to its distribution territory, effective June 12. Maui Brewing beers, including Bikini Blonde Lager, Big Swell IPA, Coconut Hiwa Porter and Pineapple Mana Wheat, will be available both on- and off-premise in all three states. The expanded distribution footprint coincides with the release of the brewery’s two summer beers, Blood Orange Lorenzini Double IPA—a 8%-abv brew relaunched in May—and the 5.5%-abv Mango Hefeweizen, made with locally sourced mango and slated to debut later this month. Both seasonal releases will be available in Maui Brewing’s newly added states.

•German cider brand Bembel-With-Care is launching in select U.S. markets this summer. Made with apples sourced from Hessen, Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg, Bembel-With-Care features three expressions: dry apple cider Apfelwein Pur, apple-cherry cider Apfelwein Kirsch and cola-infused Apfelwein Cola. The lineup will initially debut in Philadelphia, Boston and New York this month, with Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and Ohio slated to follow. Bembel-With-Care is handled in the U.S. by Liquid Projects LLC.
