•Oregon-based Pelican Brewing Company has released Queen of Hearts, a gin barrel-aged Saison-style ale. Made with a base of Pelican Brewing’s original Saison du Pélican, Queen of Hearts is aged in Old Tom gin barrels sourced from winemaker and distiller Ransom Wines & Spirits. The 6.5%-abv entry is available in 22-ounce bottles and on draft. Pelican Brewing, which operates brewing and brewpub facilities in Pacific City, Tillamook and Cannon Beach, Oregon, has a footprint spanning Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Hawaii and Vermont.
•Bloomington, Indiana’s Cardinal Spirits has partnered with Blueprint Brands to enter New York. Blueprint will handle Cardinal Spirits’ Terra Botanical Gin—created in collaboration with New York-based spice shop La Boîte—as well as the distiller’s Lake House Spiced Rum and black raspberry- and hibiscus-infused Bramble vodka. In addition to New York, Cardinal Spirits currently distributes to Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Michigan.
•California spirits company House of Carbonadi is launching Carbonadi, an ultra-premium Italian vodka. Produced in Italy’s Piedmont region, Carbonadi is made with crystalline water and organic wheat, with the initial mash distilled five times through charcoal, then re-filtered through black diamonds. The 40%-abv vodka is currently available for $89.99 a 1-liter bottle in California.
