•As autumn approaches, pumpkin-flavored beers are starting to crowd shelves and fill the draft lines across the United States. Many of these seasonal offerings are longstanding annual releases; Dogfish Head’s Punkin Ale, for example, returned for its 22nd year this past August, joined by other enduring offerings like Shipyard’s Pumpkinhead and Southern Tier’s Imperial Pumking. A handful of craft producers, however, have debuted innovative twists on the popular fall beer, diversifying a saturated seasonal category. Market Watch has the full story.

•Whyte & Mackay has released the Dalmore 40 Year Old to luxury retailers, bars and restaurants. The whisky, bottled at 42% abv in 750-ml. bottles, is a limited release, with only 750 bottles available worldwide and 58 in the U.S. market. The whisky is aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, Oloroso Sherry butts and first-fill Bourbon barrels. The Dalmore 40 comes in a Baccarat crystal decanter featuring the Dalmore Stag and retails for a suggested price of $7,500.
