•Terlato Wines has partnered with entertainment personality Giuliana Rancic and her husband, Bill Rancic, to launch Giuliana Prosecco. A DOC Prosecco sourced from Veneto, Italy, Giuliana Prosecco ($14.99) is made from 100% Glera grapes, which are cold macerated and fermented in stainless steel for a month prior to bottling. Prosecco continues to soar in the U.S., with the category now accounting for nearly one-third of the market’s total sparkling wine volume. Terlato’s Prosecco stable also includes the Riondo and Nino Franco brands.

•Vinexpo will be holding a 2018 event in Sonoma County as part of its recently launched Explorer program, which focuses on wine regions around the globe. The two-day Sonoma showcase will take place September 23-25, 2018, at a venue yet to be announced. The inaugural chapter of Vinexpo Explorer was held on September 11 and 12 in Austria. Available by invitation only, the Explorer program is offered to key international buyers, distributors and media.

•Beam Suntory’s Hornitos Tequila has unveiled a new marketing platform called “A Shot Worth Taking.” The campaign encourages consumers to take risks and features social media, print, out-of-home and video components. The videos, which premiered online last week, showcase aspiring “shot-takers,” including hip-hop artist Zairah and fashion designers Philip Landrum and Phil Lee. The campaign is slated to add TV spots next year. The Hornitos lineup, including Plata, Reposado, Añejo, Cristalino, Black Barrel and Lime Shot, was up 22.2% to 722,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank.

•South Florida’s leading bartenders are set to host an event raising funds for those affected by Hurricane Irma. To be held this Thursday, September 21st from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rusty Pelican in Miami, the event will showcase 15 different drinks stations. Tickets are $35 in advance and $50 at the door. Sponsors include a host of brands distributed in Florida by Breakthru Beverage, including Soul Premium Cachaça, Stoli, Galliano L’Autentico, Lucas Bols, Hendrick’s, Papa Pilar Rum, Suerte Tequila, Red Bull Energy Drinks, Sailor Jerry, Voss Water, Flor de Caña, Old Forester, Herradura, Michter’s and Gallo wines. All proceeds will directly benefit the U.S Bartenders Guild National Charity Foundation’s Hurricane Relief Fund.
