•In early 2018, San Diego, California’s Green Flash Brewing Co. will launch Remix IPA, a 6.2%-abv ale is made with Cascade, Columbus and Summit hops. The beer will be available nationally in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and single-serve 19.2-ounce cans. The brewery will also launch four limited-edition beers on draft nationwide next year: CaCow Milk Stout (6.3% abv) for Winter; the Wit is It White Ale (4.8 abv) for Spring and Summer; Treasure Chest IPA (7% abv) for Fall; and a Green Flash 16th Anniversary beer set for the end of 2018. Green Flash currently has locations in San Diego and Virginia Beach and is completing a Lincoln, Nebraska brewhouse and restaurant. President and COO Chris Ross says the company is looking at “opening upwards of four new outposts in cities across the country over the next 2 years.”
•Utah’s Epic Brewing has purchased Santa Barbara, California-based Telegraph Brewing Company. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Epic plans to invest in Telegraph’s expansion and push the brand into new markets. With Epic’s investment, Telegraph will also begin to offer its beer in cans. Epic will also send seven of its foeders to Telegraph’s brewery, allowing the California brewer to expand its sour production. Epic brews around 27,000 barrels a year and distributes in 24 states.
•Oregon’s GoodLife Brewing has released Secret Stash #005, a new single-hop IPA. The 6.5%-abv beer is brewed with Pilsner, American Pale and Munich malts plus more than one pound of Mosaic hops per barrel. Secret Stash #005 is Northwest-style IPA that’s earthy, floral and fruity, according to the brewer.
