Diageo To Spend $10 Million On Visitor Center At Its New Bulleit Distillery

December 15, 2017

Diageo has announced plans to build a $10 million tourism facility at its new Bulleit distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky. The 9,000-square-foot space will host tastings, distillery tours, and have a retail shop dedicated to promoting Bulleit and Diageo’s other whiskey brands. Development is set to begin early next year, and Diageo estimates that the project will be completed within a year.

Diageo plans to spend around $1 million over the first five years to promote the center. The new visitor infrastructure will allow Diageo to shift the focus at its other Kentucky location—the old Stitzel Weller distillery site in Shively, just outside Louisville. That facility currently houses the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Experience, but it will become the Stitzel-Weller Experience once the new Bulleit visitor center is opened.
