Grey Goose’s Off Script Platform Features Dwayne Johnson Mulling White House Run

July 12, 2018

Grey Goose vodka’s digital series “Off Script” is entering the political sphere with an appearance by actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, launching today. In the series’ latest episode, Johnson tells Off Script host and fellow actor Jamie Foxx that he “would consider running” for president, while noting that he would also have a lot to learn before announcing his candidacy. “Holding office (at) any level—local, state, federal, or president of the United States—I treat that with such an amount of respect,” Johnson added.

Debuted in May, Off Script is a nine-part film-focused series, and marks Grey Goose’s latest play in the content creation space, following the 2005 launch of its “Iconoclasts” TV show on the Sundance Channel. The series’ rollout comes as Grey Goose looks to stage a turnaround in the U.S., where demand for imported vodkas priced above $25 a 750-ml. has softened lately. Part of the Bacardi portfolio, last year Grey Goose depleted 2.2 million 9-liter cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.—Christina Jelski
