•Diageo is extending its Smirnoff vodka range with a new limited edition Moscow Mule-inspired entry. Infused with ginger and lime flavors, Smirnoff Moscow Mule is designed to be mixed with ginger ale or ginger beer to create a simple cocktail. The 30%-abv offering ($15 a 750-ml.) will be available at select retail outlets through September, offered in both 750-ml. and 50-ml. formats. Smirnoff Moscow Mule’s debut follows the 2016 launch of summer-inspired limited edition Smirnoff Red, White & Berry, which was up 65% to 68,000 cases in the U.S. last year, according to Impact Databank. The overall Smirnoff brand, however, was down 1.8% to 9.2 million cases for 2017.

•Brown-Forman’s Woodford Reserve has released a new Kentucky-exclusive expression: Barrel Finished Rye. The 45.2%-abv whiskey begins as Woodford’s standard rye release before being finished in new American oak barrels that are lightly charred but heavily toasted—the same process used to make the brand’s Double Oaked Bourbon. Woodford Reserve Distillery Series Barrel Finished Rye is now available at the company’s distillery and at select Kentucky retailers for $50 a 375-ml.

•Boston Beer Co. has launched a new rosé-inspired hard seltzer within its Truly Spiked & Sparkling range. Containing 100 calories and 1 gram of sugar, Truly Rosé ($15-$17 a 12-pack of 12-ounce cans) is now rolling out at select retail accounts in Maine, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont, with nationwide distribution slated for next February. The rosé-style variant joins Wild Berry, Colima Lime, Grapefruit & Pomelo, Pomegranate, Sicilian Blood Orange, Lemon & Yuzu, Blueberry & Acai, and Raspberry & Lime in the Truly Spiked & Sparkling lineup.
