Vinexpo’s Robert Beynat: Global Wine Market Benefiting From Steady U.S. Growth, Asian Momentum

On June 16-20, Vinexpo will hold its 17th biannual trade show in Bordeaux. The five-day event—which attracts roughly 50,000 wine and spirits industry professionals from 135 countries—has witnessed a considerable demographic shift in recent years, as Asia and other emerging wine markets have become increasingly important global players. At the last Bordeaux event, held in 2011, Vinexpo CEO Robert Beynat reported a significant uptick in Asian attendance—particularly from China—and he expects that trend to continue. Robert Beynat of Vinexpo: Global Wine Industry Gearing Up For Growth

When it opens its doors in Bordeaux this June 19th through the 23rd, the Vinexpo international wine and spirits exhibition will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. When the show last convened in 2009, the consensus among attendees was that the global economic sluggishness would be short-lived.
